Have you ever wondered why, with so many medications available, more and more people are dying from the very diseases these medicines are supposed to cure? I have!
The first responsibility of drug companies is to help ailing people. At least, that is what most of us believe. The drug companies spend millions of dollars and countless hours discovering new drugs. They then get a patent so other companies can not copy their discovery. This patent lasts for ten years. After that, it is fair game for all the drug companies.
Do you know that chemical warfare killing agents are being used as a treatment for cancer patients? These agents are being administered under the guise of chemotherapy. One of the agents is Nitro Mustard. Of course the companies use more acceptable names. Would you agree to be treated with mustard gas?
The Journal of American Medicine reported that ‘properly prescribed’ legal drugs kill over 100,000 citizens each year, due to reaction of toxic drugs. If the drugs are ‘properly prescribed’, then does that mean the drugs themselves are toxic, instead of the reason for the deaths being from overdose?
Modern medicine is a platform for profit, not health. This is a more serious situation than we realize, considering the heavy role big pharmaceuticals play in mainstream medicine. The trend is to ‘manage’ the disease, rather than curing it. Drug companies are the main contributor to fund medical research. Consequently, scientists are given almost no choice but to focus their time and effort on the most profitable treatments. This is not necessarily the most effective, but certainly the most profitable. Even though an herb may hold the secret to treating and maybe even curing a disease, since the herb cannot be patented, the drug companies will not fund the research. The reason an herb can not be patented is because it is a plant in its natural state.
But the drug companies do not overlook this. With research, the scientists break down the plant into its various components and extract the beneficial part. They then add other ingredients. Because of this, the result can be patented. But in certain instances, this process destroys the benefits of the herb. But don’t expect the pharmaceuticals to tell you this.
The world operates on the power of money. Before our country was founded, the early explorers used the power of trade to obtain what they wanted..
As our country progressed, the citizens decided the method of barter was very inconvenient. They devised a way that was much more convenient. They started using money! This greatly simplified things. And the world has been ruled by money since then.
A good example of the power of money is the treatment of diabetes. Even though a person is a ‘borderline’ diabetic, most doctors will start prescribing medicine, sometimes two or three. Why not advise the patient to lose weight and get on a diet appropriate for diabetics? The ‘why’ is because diabetes medicines are some of the most expensive. Besides, there is no money in prescribing weight loss and good diet!
