There are a lot of companies which are heading in the path of conservation. This is not because the companies themselves have a conscience or have somehow developed some sort of ethical code, no, the reason that so many companies are beginning to operate in eco friendly ways is because they have found it profitable to do so.

The truth is that they average consumer is more likely to support a company that is behaving itself from an ethical standpoint. This can be proven from examples like toms shoes which give away a pair of shoes to a child in Africa for every pair that it sells in the US. This literally doubles the cost of production but because people want to support this type of behavior they are willing to pay more.

If you are wondering how you can help your company conduct business in a more ethical manner then this article will now present a short list of places to start.

First it is recommended to start a recycling program. This is easy to do and most people will be supportive from the beginning.

Second, if you are involved in international business and have distributors in countries which do not have as stringent labor laws as the US; require these companies to show upon inspection that the workers are being treated humanely. This will be a little harder of a sell but is one of the biggest impacts that a company can have on developing markets. This is hard but worth it.
