morning was from test missiles launched from Fort Wingate, New Mexico according to official at White Sand Missile Range. A target vehicle was launched sometime overnight, then a second missile was launched to hit the target object.
White Sands noted some people may have seen an explosion occur due to the missiles’ collision.
Officials also said the high-end missile testing is done on occasion, at least once a year.
